Rachel Corsie

Ambassador

Scotland international footballer and chartered accountant Rachel brings a wealth of knowledge to HPI. Rachel understands how finances can be successfully managed for the long-term benefit of our clients and their families, and is a relatable figure in the world of football.

About

Rachel is the current Scotland & Aston Villa Women’s Captain and is one of the Barclays Women’s Super League most experienced and respected footballers. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Her football career has seen Rachel play alongside and against many of the best players in the world.

She has captained seven of the professional sides she has played for, as well as leading her country since 2017.

Rachel’s passion for finance and football was cemented at an early age. After graduating from University she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in their Audit department and worked with them for three years while playing for Glasgow City at the same time. She would often arrive at Scotland International camp with her boots and a bag filled with tax books and notes. While there was inevitable difficulty in having two promising careers run in parallel, Rachel credits that period in teaching her the value of hard work and being disciplined; skills she is proud to put into use every day since.

At the age of 24, Rachel finally committed to playing football on a full-time basis signing with Notts County in the Women’s Super League. She has since played extensively in the top flight in USA in the NWSL, as well as the A-League in Australia, before returning closer to home in 2022 to sign with her current side Aston Villa.

She is the third most capped player for Scotland of all time, having made her debut back in 2009 against France. She led her country into the finals of the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France where she played every minute of their history-making campaign.

A leader on and off the pitch, Rachel was the Vice President of the NWSL Players Association, and was integral to the historic agreement struck offering professional players in America a better and fairer deal. She has also led her international colleagues to a historic equal pay deal in Scotland.

Rachel brings a huge value to High Performance Individuals. Her qualifications are significant and ensures she brings real-term in-depth knowledge of how finances can be successfully managed for the long-term benefit of our clients and their families.

Her approach to football and life is pragmatic, guided by strategic thinking, calculated decisions and great care for the people around her.
