Ben Hinchliffe

Ben, a seasoned English goalkeeper, epitomises the values of resilience, dedication, and teamwork in the realm of football. Born in the football-rich region of Preston, Lancashire, Ben's journey in the beautiful game is marked by his unwavering commitment to his team and the pursuit of excellence.

​From his early days kicking a ball around in Preston, Ben displayed an innate talent for the game. His passion for football blossomed during his youth, catching the eye of talent scouts at Preston North End. In April 2006, Ben's promising performances in the youth and reserve teams earned him a coveted one-year professional contract with Preston North End.

​Ben's journey, however, was not without its share of challenges. A loan spell at Kendal Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division showcased his potential, but a setback in the form of a knee injury tested his resolve. Nevertheless, he bounced back, showcasing his resilience as he embarked on subsequent loan spells at Tranmere Rovers and later secured a move to Derby County.

​Following his stint at Derby County, Ben ventured into non-league football, demonstrating his commitment to the sport while emphasising the importance of teamwork. From Oxford United to Northwich Victoria, he contributed to each team's success, fostering a collaborative spirit on and off the pitch.

​In May 2016, Ben found his home at Stockport County. His arrival marked the beginning of a remarkable chapter in his career, where he continued to emphasise the significance of teamwork. With stellar performances between the sticks, he became a stalwart figure, not only making crucial saves but also serving as a leader and motivator for his teammates.
